Rhino: Agencies – The Rapid Support Forces said on Wednesday that drones launched from an overseas base carried out airstrikes targeting populated areas in the cities of Zalingei and Kabkabiya in the Darfur region today, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, including women and children.
The Rapid Support Forces added in a statement: “These attacks resulted in dozens of unarmed civilian casualties, including women and children, as a result of the sinful aggression launched by the terrorist Islamic Movement army with the support of parties that we know and monitor their increasing blatant interventions in systematic extermination campaigns against specific communities in Sudan.”
The statement called on human rights organizations and countries that have repeatedly called on us to resort to peace to shoulder their moral responsibilities regarding the ongoing violations against civilians in areas where our forces are not present. We affirm that the Rapid Support Forces are capable of responding at the appropriate time and place to protect civilians and maintain security.
