Sudanese Relief Agency: Currently available aid does not exceed 40% of actual needs

Khartoum: Rhino – The Executive Director of the Sudanese Relief Agency, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Ismail, said that the agency’s work is not limited to areas controlled by a particular party, as it seeks to provide its services throughout Sudan, including areas controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces. In an interview with the online newspaper Al-Jamaheer, published today, he emphasized that since its establishment, the agency has played several key roles, most notably coordinating the distribution of humanitarian aid in cooperation with national and international organizations and facilitating humanitarian access in areas affected by conflict.

Ismail revealed that there is a large humanitarian gap in Sudan, noting that the aid currently available does not exceed 30 to 40% of the actual need, according to joint coordination reports with international organizations. He added, “The agency cooperates with a number of international organizations and United Nations teams working in the humanitarian field.”

The executive director of the Sudanese Relief Agency welcomed cooperation with any other organizations wishing to work in accordance with national guidelines, saying, “We encourage long-term strategic partnerships that serve the Sudanese citizen.”
