Rhino: Agencies – The International Criminal Court on Monday convicted Ali Mohamed Ali Abdulrahman, known as Ali Kosheib, on 27 counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including rape, murder, and persecution.
The court demanded that the government of Port Sudan hand over ousted President Omar al-Bashir and his interior and defense ministers, Ahmed Haroun and Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hussein, who are wanted on the same charges for crimes committed more than 20 years ago in the Darfur region.
Ali Kosheib voluntarily surrendered to the Criminal Court in 2020 after being accused of war crimes and genocide in Darfur.
The court is set to determine Kosheib’s sentence later in a new round of hearings.
