Hamidati reveals details of a secret meeting held by Al-Burhan with army leaders prior to the outbreak of war

Khartoum: Rhino – The head of the Presidential Council of the Government of Peace and Unity, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, confirmed on Saturday Al-Burhan’s prior intention to start the war on April 15, noting his absence from a meeting scheduled between them before the outbreak of the war, citing ill health, while he held another meeting – Sari – with the army leadership to discuss the plan to attack the Rapid Support Forces, signaling the outbreak of war.

In a speech before the leaders of the Sudanese Founding Alliance, “in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Governor of Darfur, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris,” which was broadcast on Sunday, Hemidati confirmed that they had a copy of the minutes of that meeting, which included Al-Burhan’s pledge to defeat the Rapid Support Forces in just four hours.

He pointed out that some leaders of military units in the army requested a delay before the start of operations, but the military aviation official interrupted them, announcing that the air force was ready to carry out strikes targeting Rapid Support Forces camps within an hour or two.

The head of the Presidential Council of the transitional government blamed the Islamic Movement for igniting the war, as a result of their feeling of exclusion from the framework agreement. He accused parties within the army of colluding with the Islamists, based on information conveyed to him by Lieutenant General Suleiman Sandal during a meeting between them in El Geneina, in which he confirmed the existence of a conspiracy against him from within the military institution.

Daglo revealed a previous agreement with the army leadership to integrate the Rapid Support Forces into the army over a period of ten years, which had been agreed upon before the outbreak of the war. He pointed out that Burhan had been stalling in discussing the details of the framework agreement, despite being given sufficient time to review all the terms.

After reaching a comprehensive understanding, the issue of integrating the Rapid Support Forces was raised again, which Hamidti considered an attempt to reopen a file that had already been settled with the official signature of the army commander. He emphasized that their position was not a rejection of integration, but rather adherence to what had been previously agreed upon.
