Bara: Rhino – Eyewitnesses from the city of Bara in North Kordofan state said that army forces and allied militias committed murder, and looting after entering the city, creating widespread chaos as a result of theft, assault, and extortion of citizens by fabricating charges of collaboration with the Rapid Support Forces, which carries the death penalty and requires no evidence.
According to witnesses, army forces and joint militias carried out widespread looting and pillaging of citizens’ homes, terrorizing and blackmailing them by accusing them of collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces, at gunpoint. They also stole household furniture, electrical appliances, cooking utensils, and anything else they could steal from empty homes.
The stolen goods were collected in specific locations, in full view of officers and commanders, who did nothing to stop them, before being transported to the city of El Obeid as spoils of war, passing through checkpoints without anyone stopping them, until they reached El Obeid, where they were put up for sale in the markets.
