More than 400 people died in the Nuba Mountains due to hunger

Rhino: Agencies – The civil authority in the areas controlled by the Popular Movement led by al-Hilu revealed that 416 citizens died of hunger between August 14 and September 20, while 52,479 children reached a state of acute malnutrition.
In a statement, the first secretary of the civil authority, Arno Ngutlu Lodi, accused the government of putting obstacles in the rescue of citizens after declaring famine in the areas under its control.
He pointed out that the Sudanese Relief and Reconstruction Agency addressed all humanitarian organizations and concerned UN agencies to provide aid.
He explained that this delay, which he described as unjustified, may put more than three million citizens, including more than 768,000 displaced people, at risk.
The civil authority revealed that the humanitarian situation has worsened and the tragedy of the citizens in the Blue Nile region has increased.
The civil authority renewed its appeal to UN agencies and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to save the lives of millions of people, and called on local, regional and international media outlets to exert maximum media pressure.
Last August, the civil authority declared a famine in SPLM-controlled areas in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
