Nyala: Rhino – The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, today praised the immediate response from all parties to the initiative to resolve the conflict in Heiban County in South Kordofan–Nuba Mountains region.

He renewed his call to all parties in the region to abide by their commitments to an immediate ceasefire, a halt to all hostilities, an end to hate speech, and a cessation of media attacks.

His Excellency directed the conflict resolution mechanism to begin its work immediately and to work toward building trust among the parties, opening roads to facilitate the movement of citizens, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid and trade, and opening markets, in accordance with the statements issued by the parties today.

The initiative by the President of the Presidential Council aims to preserve the shared destiny of the Sudanese peoples, who have made great sacrifices to achieve their legitimate aspirations for a dignified life, stability, and development—especially the peoples of the South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains region, who have struggled for freedom and for the building and establishment of a new Sudan.
