Christian Youth Union calls for the classification of the Sudanese Islamic Movement as a terrorist organization

Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudanese Christian Youth Union called on Sunday to classify the Sudanese Islamic Movement as a terrorist organization, praising the US administration’s tendency to press for the extradition of those wanted by the International Criminal Court, and the inclusion of the extremist organization in the list of US terrorist organizations.

The president of the Christian Youth Union, Osama Saeed Musa Kodi, said in a statement to Rhino on Sunday that the de facto authorities in Port Sudan are the reason for the continuation of the war, pointing to the continued gross violations of human rights by the army forces, and their disregard for all international values and norms, which stipulate the protection of civilians during armed conflicts.

He added: “The de facto authorities in Port Sudan with an extremist Islamic ideology have no legitimacy, and their truth has been exposed in front of the Sudanese people with the increase in air raids on civilians, killing children and women,” referring to the crime of genocide in Tora market in Darfur, Abu Zabad, Babanusa in West Kordofan, Yabus in Blue Nile, Saiba in South Kordofan and the Port Sudan government’s use of chemical weapons in Khartoum and Darfur.
