Khartoum: Rhino – In a step described as procedural, the UAE authorities officially notified Port Sudan Airport management that they are unable to receive flights from Sudanese airlines at their airports, according to sources in the aviation sector in Port Sudan.
Aviation sources confirmed that the decision, which is part of periodic reviews related to aviation safety and international operational obligations, includes all Sudanese airlines, without specifying a time frame for this measure.
The decision led to the cancelation of flights for dozens of passengers on the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, after they were unable to travel to the UAE via a Sudanese airline.
The decision comes at a time when the Sudanese aviation sector is facing increasing challenges, amid security and political unrest that has affected air traffic and raised widespread concern among travelers and airlines operating in the country.
