Tabit: Saleh Hiririn – The civil authority affiliated with the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdul Wahid Nur, has implemented measures to contain the outbreak of cholera and watery diarrhea in the town of Tabit, located about 43 kilometers south of El Fasher, in North Darfur.
Health sources told Raino on Sunday that the civil authority’s health office had taken measures to prevent the spread of cholera and watery diarrhea on a large scale in Tabit.
The sources indicated that the town recorded five confirmed cases of cholera last week and more than 10 suspected cases, and reported that the civil authority closed the roads between the town of Tabit, Tawila, and the displaced persons’ camps at the Tunjur reservoir.
The sources said that the health office, in coordination with health organizations working in Tawila, sent medicines, supplies, and health teams to detect suspected cases of cholera and respond quickly. They noted that these interventions contributed to reducing the emergence of new cases of cholera compared to previous days.
Last week, the town of Tabit witnessed the death of a woman from watery diarrhea and the infection of others.
