Khartoum: Rhino – Gunmen shot and killed a young man, Saleh Ali Qaddaf, in the 60th Revolution neighborhood. Eyewitnesses from the neighborhood said that members of the Sudanese army tried to steal his phone in front of his house after he threw it inside his house, so they killed him on the spot. The witnesses added that the victim died while trying to save him on his way to Al-Naw Hospital, noting that the deceased was the father of three children.
Saleh’s assassination in Omdurman comes one day after the assassination of young Hamid Nabil Hamid by members of the Sudanese armed forces last Sunday in front of his home in the Al-Hatanah neighborhood of Omdurman.
While Nabil was in front of his home, three members of the Sudanese army attacked him and tried to take his mobile phone. When he refused to hand over the phone and resisted them, they shot him with live ammunition from an automatic rifle, which pierced his abdomen. He was taken to Al-Naw Hospital but died, according to eyewitnesses in press statements.
The people of Al-Hatanah held the army leadership and the governor of Khartoum responsible for the security breakdown and demanded that the security forces be brought under control and an end be put to the killings, looting, oppression, and abuse of citizens.
The city of Omdurman witnessed three killings for the purpose of looting and theft within 48 hours.
