Rhino: Agencies – The Rapid Support Forces said on Friday that they had managed to free five employees of a French organization who had been taken hostage by armed men at the last gate in the Khor Ramla area of Central Darfur last week.
The online newspaper Al-Jamaheer quoted sources as saying that the five kidnapped individuals work for a French organization called “Handy Cap,” two of whom are of unknown nationality and three are Sudanese, including the son of the leader of the Beni Hussein tribe. They were on their way from El Geneina to Nertiti in Central Darfur.
It confirmed that a rapid support force tracked down the kidnappers, managed to free the hostages unharmed, arrested one of the kidnappers, and transferred them all to the city of Zalingei on Thursday.
According to sources, the kidnappers hid the foreigners and Sudanese in a mountainous area, and as soon as the information became available, Rapid Support Forces raided the site, ending the detention and recovering the kidnapped victims.
