Rhino: Agencies – The United Arab Emirates confirmed that it does not recognize the decision of the Port Sudan authority, as this authority does not represent the legitimate government of Sudan and its noble people, and that the statement issued by the so-called Security and Defense Council will not affect the well-established relations between the UAE and the Republic of Sudan and their two brotherly peoples.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the decision of the Port Sudan Authority – one of the warring parties in Sudan – to sever diplomatic relations with the UAE is a reaction just one day after the International Court of Justice rejected the lawsuit filed by the Port Sudan Authority.
The ministry rejected the disgraceful statements issued by the Port Sudan Authority, which are a maneuver to evade peace efforts, and stressed that Sudan and its generous people need a civilian leadership independent of the military authority that puts the priorities of the brotherly people in the first place. A leadership that does not kill half of its people and starve and displace the other half.
The ministry added that the UAE stands by the Sudanese people, especially the large Sudanese community residing in the UAE and Sudanese visitors who will not be affected by the recent decisions. It reiterated that the UAE has been at the forefront of the world’s support for Sudan over the past five decades and will not hesitate to extend a helping hand to the Sudanese people.
