RSF Advisory Council Brands Al-Burhan a “Political Deceiver” in Scathing Statement

Khartoum: Rhino – The Advisory Council of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander has issued one of its most severe rebukes yet against Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, labelling him “Musaylimah of our time” and accusing him of being a political opportunist devoid of integrity or revolutionary commitment.

In the strongly worded statement, the Council alleged that Al-Burhan has consistently shifted between personal ambition, the influence of Islamist figures such as Ali Karti, and the demands of the Sudanese street — ultimately betraying them all.

“To observe Al-Burhan’s speeches and actions is to witness contradiction personified,” the statement read. “He has never truly believed in the revolution, nor openly rejected it. He plays both sides — a master of evasion and deception.”

The statement condemned Al-Burhan’s latest address, interpreting it as an explicit betrayal of the revolution’s values, and claimed it unveiled the army’s full alignment with what it described as an “extremist organization” rooted in the former regime.

“The armed forces are no longer a national institution, but a military tool controlled by remnants of a bygone dictatorship,” the RSF council declared.

In sharp contrast, the RSF portrayed itself as a steady and loyal defender of the revolution, claiming it has remained true to its revolutionary principles since the 2019 uprising. It credited the RSF’s “firm stance” as a major obstacle preventing a return to authoritarian rule.

“The war would never have ignited had it not been for the RSF’s refusal to submit to counter-revolutionary forces,” the statement continued.

Reaffirming its commitment to a civilian-led democratic transition, the council pledged to continue its battle until Sudan is rid of what it called a “terrorist network” entrenched within the military establishment.

“We will not retreat a single step until a just, democratic state is achieved — one grounded in equal citizenship and civil rights,” the council vowed.

The statement concluded with a rallying cry in honor of those affected by the conflict: “Glory to the martyrs, swift recovery to the wounded, and safe return to the missing. The revolution continues — and so does the war.”
