RSF condemns attempts by Minawi forces to tarnish its image by making fabricated videos

Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemned on Saturday what it described as desperate attempts and farcical plays through which the so-called “Joint Force” aims to spread lies and fabrications and weave fabricated narratives in order to discredit our forces and falsely accuse its members.

On Friday, a video clip of civilians from the city of El Fasher participating in making a misleading video simulating the occurrence of murders in the city with fake medical staff while some lay on their backs to be portrayed as the bodies of the victims of the attack, in an effort to criminalize the RSF and attract international sanctions against it.

The RSF said in a statement that the video, which contained poorly directed scenes, “revealed an ugly scheme run by elements of the terrorist army and the so-called joint force, under the supervision of Minni Arko Minawi.

Special rooms are active in the production of misleading plays and fabricated narratives in a desperate attempt to criminalize the RSF.” She added: “In light of the successive defeats suffered by the coup militias and mercenary movements, these parties had no choice but to resort to fabricating a video clip circulating among activists and some local sources, showing representative scenes of alleged violations.”

The statement read: “This video appears to have been produced using civilian actors from inside the Zamzam camp, which the mercenary movements use as a military base. These scenes were filmed under the full direction of a team equipped with camera equipment, directors and assistants, some of whom appear in the background directing women and men to play the roles of actors, in a naive dramatic scene aimed at stirring Sudanese emotions and gaining fake public sympathy. It is notable that some of the participants in the theatrical scene were directing their gaze towards the camera or waiting for the photographer’s instructions, while a number of women failed to embody the scene of the murdered women and had to re-perform their roles several times, while others were directed to engage in wailing and crying in a clear indication of the absence of spontaneity and the existence of a preconceived script and direction, which has nothing to do with documenting a real incident.”

The statement continued: “These systematic campaigns, which lack any evidence or objective basis, only aim to divert attention from the real crimes committed against the Sudanese people, and clearly show the malicious intentions aimed at undermining stability and tearing apart the social fabric through tendentious propaganda that has nothing to do with reality.”

The RSF emphasized its full commitment to protecting civilians and its keenness to respect international humanitarian law, and expressed its strong rejection of “attempts to tarnish its reputation or implicate it in fabricated and baseless allegations.” She called on the concerned parties, locally and internationally, to investigate the truth and avoid adopting biased narratives based on tendentious agendas. She called on free media outlets to expose these cheap methods of exploiting displacement camps as sites for producing misleading material or turning them into theaters for political manipulation.

And further: “We draw attention to the fact that some biased satellite channels contribute to spreading these canned lies, as part of systematic disinformation campaigns that serve the agenda of the Islamic terrorist movement. We reiterate to our honorable people that such cheap campaigns will not deter us from performing our sacred duty and achieving our lofty goal of uprooting this corrupt junta, whatever the cost in terms of sacrifices. We will not be distracted by such nonsense, which only reflects the bankruptcy and lack of morals of those who launch them.”
