TASIS Coalition: We managed to evacuate more than 8500 families from El Fasher

Rhino: Agencies – Over the past six days, the RSF, the Sudan Liberation Movement-Transitional Council (SLM-TC) and the Sudan Liberation Forces (SLF) have evacuated more than 8,500 families to safer areas. The evacuation destinations included Tawila, Korma and a number of neighboring villages, it said in a statement on Friday. The evacuation process continues at an increasing pace, with delegations still arriving in succession at reception and shelter areas.

The statement reads: “In light of the critical security and humanitarian situation in North Darfur state, TASIS forces continue their humanitarian efforts to evacuate civilians from the city of El Fasher and neighboring camps. The displaced people have been provided with basic needs, including drinking water and food, as part of ongoing efforts to protect civilians and alleviate their suffering”.

The coalition reiterated its full commitment to our national and humanitarian responsibilities towards our peoples and called on the concerned parties to support these efforts and join hands to protect civilians and keep them out of the circle of military operations. The coalition emphasized that it “will spare no effort to protect civilians and will continue with the honorable members of the Sudanese people in rebuilding Sudan on just foundations that preserve the rights of citizens and protect their basic rights.”
