Rhino: Agencies – German press reports confirmed on Wednesday that Arsenal have set their sights on one of Bayern Munich’s stars, with the aim of signing him during the summer transfer window on a free transfer.

German newspaper “Bild” reported that Spanish coach Mikel Arteta wants to bring Leroy Sane, the Bavarian team’s winger, to the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta has worked with Sane before, when the former was an assistant to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, while the German winger was a player for the Citizens before moving to Bayern.

With his contract with the Bundesliga club expiring in June, the Gunners could sign Sane on a free transfer.

Sane has lost his place in the starting lineup recently, with Belgian coach Vincent Kompany preferring the duo of Kingsley Coman and Mikael Aulis.

Arteta wants to strengthen the Gunners’ attack next season, despite having Gabriel Martinelli and Bocaio Sacca, Leandro Troussard and Kai Havertz, as well as Gabriel Jesus up front.
