Increasing complaints of army soldiers robbing citizens in Khartoum and Gezira states

Rhino: Agencies – Citizens are increasingly complaining about thefts in areas controlled by the Sudanese army and the forces supporting it, and citizens said that houses are being robbed by thieves from the forces working with the army.

Citizens reported thefts and assaults in Omdurman, Wad Madani and East Nile after the army took control of these areas, explaining that a number of the thefts were committed by members of the army and the forces and groups working with it.

Citizens and activists launched calls on social media asking residents of neighborhoods entered by the army to return to guard their homes and preserve what is left of them.

Despite increasing complaints of thefts and looting by soldiers in government forces, the de facto government has remained silent, especially in the military-controlled city of Omdurman, from which the Khartoum state government operates.
