Libya: Dozens of Sudanese seized at sea on their way to Europe

Rhino: Agencies – Libyan authorities arrested 65 migrants of Egyptian and Sudanese nationalities who were on their way to Europe. The migrants were found at sea, north of the Panem region, before being smuggled to European countries.

This was not the only operation carried out by the Libyan authorities, as nine other migrants of Egyptian and Sudanese origin who had been kidnapped by human smuggling gangs were also freed. These migrants were being held on a farm south of Tobruk.

The challenges migrants faces are numerous, from dangerous traveling conditions to kidnapping and exploitation. Human smuggling gangs treat migrants as commodities, adding an additional layer of danger.
