RSF condemns the army’s massacres against civilians in Kambo Taiba, Gezira State

Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemned what it described as the army’s brutal campaigns of killing, abuse and torture, targeting innocent citizens of Kanabi, especially the massacre of Kambo Taiba, east of Umm al-Qura locality in Gezira State, which witnessed systematic crimes that claimed hundreds of victims since the army and its militias entered the city of Wad Madani last Saturday. The RSF called the attacks a violation and serious genocidal crimes “committed by the army and the brigades of terrorism and extremism.”

The RSF added in a statement on Monday: “Our forces, while declaring full solidarity with the ‘people of Kanabi’ and the families of the victims of the oppression and displacement operations, call for the awakening of the human conscience, help the innocent and save their lives, as Burhan militias and terrorist brigades have invaded entire villages and areas, deliberately burning them and abusing innocent people under the pretexts that they represent social embraces for the RSF.

The statement stressed that the crimes committed in Kambo Taiba, and other crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing, threaten the security and safety of Sudanese society, and represent an extension of the series of crimes committed by the Islamic terrorist movement against the Sudanese people in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile, “which calls for urgent action by human rights and humanitarian organizations.”

The statement warned against the ongoing incitement campaigns by the mouthpieces of the old regime and war mongers against the Kanabi people in central Sudan and attempts to exploit the current events to liquidate their existence and displace them to serve the agendas of dividing the country. The statement called for sparing innocent citizens from armed conflict to avoid sliding into a civil war.

The statement continued: “We assure the masses of our people that we will move forward with all responsibility to rid our country of the racist gang and build Sudan on new and just foundations that lift the injustice and marginalization of all Sudanese peoples.
