Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces announced on Saturday that it did not target any populated locations in Omdurman, denying its connection to the shelling of Sabrin market, and emphasized that all artillery shells on the Thawrat area are launched from military platforms of the army and its militias, “with the aim of covering up their crimes.”
The RSF added in a statement on Saturday: “While our forces confirm that they are not related to the indiscriminate shelling operations targeting citizens in Omdurman, they point out that the targeting of civilians is part of a plan by Burhan’s militias and the remnants of the old regime, especially the Baraa Brigades, to cover up the atrocities they committed in Um Ruwaba, North Bahri and before that in Wad Madani, Suki and Dender.”
The statement called on the citizens of Omdurman and others “to be alert and vigilant against the games of terrorist groups,” and called on human rights bodies and humanitarian organizations “to play their role in protecting civilians from the atrocities that are being systematically committed in a number of areas, under direct orders from Al-Burhan.”
