Complaints of looting led by army regulars in Omdurman and Wad Madani

Rhino: Agencies – Citizens complained of organized looting and thefts carried out by soldiers belonging to the regular forces and militias working with them in the cities of Omdurman and Wad Madani, causing a state of insecurity.

Citizens said that there is widespread military chaos in Omdurman and Wad Medani and that they are being threatened and robbed by soldiers during the day without any intervention from their commanders despite repeated complaints.

Citizens in the city of Wad Madani, which was recently recaptured by the army from the RSF militias, confirmed that everything that escaped the hands of the RSF is now subject to looting by soldiers of the regular forces and pro-army militias.

Local sources revealed that a large amount of loot has been transferred to other cities in Gezira state such as Sennar and Manakil, while the loot is being sold in Omdurman in the markets. The sources added that many citizens are considering leaving Omdurman to other cities due to their insecurity, while other citizens asked their acquaintances to quickly return to guard their homes in Wad Madani. The governor of Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, had issued an emergency order imposing a curfew in Wad Madani from 7pm to 6am.
