Rhino: Agencies – Real Madrid star Fede Valverde stressed his great desire to beat Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final clasico, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Valverde said during the pre-match press conference on Saturday: “This title is very important, because it will give us confidence for the rest of the season. “Winning this title always gives us a boost.

“I’m very happy to be starting. I’m grateful for the confidence of the coach (Carlo Ancelotti). In the Copa del Rey, I spoke to him, he told me I had to rest, and we agreed that I would play 45 minutes. For me, it’s a great honor, and I’ll find time to rest in July.”

On whether he could repeat his famous tackle on Alvaro Morata in tomorrow’s game against Barcelona, he said: “I don’t want to comment. At the time it was for the good of the team, and that’s the most important thing for me”.

“If we win tomorrow, it means we continue to prove that we are the best club in the world, because at the end of the season we are always the ones who win trophies.”
