Rhino: Agencies – The joint force of the armed movements fighting alongside the army detained two trucks loaded with life-saving medicines and relief items in Tina, Chad, that were on their way to civilians in Nyala city in South Darfur and Zamzam camp for displaced people in North Darfur.
Trade and humanitarian supplies flowed out of Tine after a period of suspension due to heavy rains, amid complaints from traders about insecurity and fees paid to the armed movements and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in areas under their control.
“The joint forces of the armed movements in the town of Al-Tinah refused the exit of two trucks after completing the procedures for their entry into the country from neighboring Chadian Al-Tinah,” Darfur24 news website quoted an eyewitness from Al-Tinah town on Sunday.
He noted that the joint forces justified the move by the presence of the RSF in Nyala and the Zamzam camp road.
The news website quoted sources as saying that the two trucks had completed their procedures from the army’s military intelligence, the Humanitarian Aid Commission and the Tine local government, before a brigadier general in the joint force named Hawn seized the papers of the two trucks and prevented their exit to join the convoy in Adré, Chad, to reach El Geneina.
She reported that the Joint Force is putting obstacles in the way of the flow of relief to the Darfur region, despite the decisions of the Sovereignty Council and North Darfur State not to intercept relief trucks, which are thoroughly inspected and have no irregularities.
