Rhino: Agencies – A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the way HTS treats minorities in Syria will determine the German government’s stance on the group.

HTS led the Syrian armed opposition’s surprise offensive that led to the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

“In the past months and years, HTS has sought to distance itself from its militant Islamist origins and has worked to build civilian structures,” the spokesman added.
