Rhino: Agencies – The commander of the Baraa bin Malik Brigade militia, Al-Musbah Abu Zaid Talha, announced his rejection of the Turkish initiative that aims to mediate to end the crisis between Port Sudan and the United Arab Emirates, which includes a dialogue between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In a post on Facebook, Talha published a statement announcing that those he described as “the leadership” have made their final decision that the only available option is military resolution, in light of news circulating that a Turkish initiative could succeed in ending the conflict that has been ongoing since April 2023.

The statements of the Turkish and Sudanese foreign ministers after the latter’s visit to Sudan were devoid of any reference to Sudanese Emirati reconciliation but rather centered on the need to stop the war in the country.

Leaks about the Turkish initiative indicate the possibility of organizing meetings between leaders of the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the UAE.
