Rhino: Agencies – Manchester United’s Portuguese captain Bruno Fernandes made history for his club, after a thrilling derby victory against Manchester City.

Manchester United clinched the derby against Manchester City with a 2-1 victory, on Sunday, in the 16th round of the English Premier League.

City were leading until the 88th minute, before United scored back-to-back goals through Bruno Fernandes (penalty) and Amad Diallo.

Fernandes became the most prolific penalty taker in the Red Devils’ Premier League history, according to Opta.

The Portuguese international surpassed the record held by Wayne Rooney, who scored 20 goals out of the 28 penalties he took throughout his United career.

The current United captain has taken 25 penalties, 21 of which he has converted, with a success rate of 84%.

Fernandes scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season, taking his total to 58 goals in 175 appearances.
