Rhino: Agencies – Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has opened up about his move to Real Madrid in 2014 from Bayern Munich.
Kroos was awarded the Golden Player of the Year award for 2024, in recognition of his efforts and what he has done with football over the past years, after he made the decision to retire from football last summer.
In an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Kroos said: “He (Ancelotti) brought me to Madrid in 2014, he wanted me so badly after the World Cup.
“They won the Champions League and he told me he wanted to take the team to the next level. It wasn’t easy to leave Bayern Munich to join Real Madrid, but he made it simple and motivated me.
“We had a special relationship, and I like the idea that my time at Real Madrid started and ended with him.”
