Rhino: Agencies – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said on Sunday that Israel will close its embassy in Dublin in light of the Irish government’s extreme anti-Israel policies, referring to the recognition of a Palestinian state and support for an international legal action against Israel’s war on Gaza.
In a statement, Saar added that Israel recalled its ambassador to Dublin following Ireland’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state in May. Last week, Ireland announced its support for South Africa’s legal action against Israel at the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of committing genocide.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “The decision to close Israel’s embassy in Dublin was taken in light of the extreme anti-Israel policies of the Irish government.”
“Ireland’s anti-Semitic actions and rhetoric against Israel are rooted in a ‘desire’ to delegitimize and demonize the Jewish state, as well as ‘adopting’ double standards,” Saar said in the statement. Ireland has crossed all red lines in its relations with Israel.
