Rhino:Agencies – A new batch of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered several areas in Darfur, hours before the extension of the opening of the crossing by the Sudanese Sovereignty Council.
On Wednesday, the Sudanese authorities decided to extend the opening of the Adré border crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to its beneficiaries, hours before the expiration of the three-month period previously set.
Sources told “Darfur24” that more than 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed to the areas of Morni and Habila in West Darfur, noting that procedures were completed for other trucks to enter the Nertiti area in Central Darfur and Kerenk in West Darfur.
The sources stated that the increase in the number of trucks in the recent period is due to the precautionary measures put in place by foreign organizations after reports of pressure exerted on the Sudanese government by some armed movements fighting with the army to close the crossing.
