Rhino: Agencies – A Spanish press report on Monday revealed the secret of Belgian Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, provoking Atletico Madrid fans.
The derby match between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid on Sunday was interrupted for a quarter of an hour because the fans of the Rojiblancos threw a lighter at Courtois.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone came out and attacked Courtois after the match, accusing him of being the one who provoked his team’s fans.
He added: “The one who made the provocations should be punished, not the one who plays the victim.”
However, Spanish newspaper Marca pointed out that Courtois’ provocation of the Atletico Madrid fans came after they chanted against him, saying: “Courtois. Die.”
The cameras of Movistar, which specializes in broadcasting La Liga matches, also captured the actions of the Atletico fans towards Courtois.
