Chadian government condemns Sudanese army’s accusations of supporting RSF

Rhino: The government of the Republic of Chad on Friday condemned what it described as the false allegations made by the Sudanese military regime about its support for the Rapid Support Forces in the Sudanese war, and expressed in a statement on Friday, its deep indignation at the “repeated baseless accusations made by the Sudanese military authorities without evidence, noting that it worked – and vigorously – for peace in Sudan.

“Since the beginning of the tensions, Chad has adopted a position of strict and equal neutrality towards the parties to the conflict. Recognizing the great dangers of war, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Chad, Mohamed Idriss Deby Atno, took the initiative to receive the two warring generals in N’Djamena long before the outbreak of hostilities, in a last-ditch attempt at prevention and mediation. It is regrettable that this attempt at dialogue and mediation was not followed by the Sudanese leaders, who chose the path of arms, at the expense of their people’s aspirations for peace and democracy.)

The statement emphasized the fact that the Sudanese army commander, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, was the originator of the RSF, and that its commander, General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, was appointed vice president of Sudan.

The statement continued: “For 20 years, Chad has welcomed Sudanese refugees and bore the weight of wars and conflicts in Sudan and the consequences of warlike policies. Today, Chad is bearing the consequences of a new, larger and more deadly tragedy. Chad cannot be held responsible for a war whose consequences it foresaw and tried to avoid, and strongly condemns the false claims made by the Sudanese military regime and calls on the international community to recognize the facts.
