Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) condemned the killing of innocent citizens by the Sudanese army forces in Gezira state on the basis of identity, “on arbitrary charges and without trials,” and called on the international community to fulfill its moral and humanitarian duty and work to stop these crimes immediately, which constitute “a danger to the social fabric and peaceful coexistence among the Sudanese,” according to a statement by the movement on Thursday.
The SPLM said in its statement that the violations and killing of large numbers of citizens in al-Kanabi in East Gezira and other villages, in addition to other citizens inside the neighborhoods of Wad Madani city, constitute genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and crimes against humanity against citizens who were targeted on the basis of ethnic identity.
The SPLM-N has been talking about the distorted social structure of Sudanese society and “indigenous racism” based on the illusion of “racial superiority”. Since its inception, the Sudanese state has been establishing such concepts in all ways and means through educational curricula, the media, racist policies and laws that discriminate between Sudanese.
