Moroccan king and French president call for immediate cessation of attacks in Lebanon and Gaza

Rhino: Agencies – Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron called Monday evening in Rabat for “an immediate cessation of attacks in Gaza and Lebanon,” as part of the French president’s state visit to Morocco scheduled from Monday to October 30.

The French president “praised the constructive role played by the Moroccan monarch, chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in the service of peace in the Middle East and called for an immediate cessation of attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, stressing the priority of protecting the civilian population, the importance of ensuring and facilitating adequate humanitarian access, and putting an end to the inflammation of the situation at the regional level,” a statement from the Moroccan Royal Court said.

The two leaders also stressed the need to urgently “revive the peace process within the framework of the two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
