Rhino:Agencies – A goalless draw decided the first half of the El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona on Saturday evening, in the 11th round of La Liga, at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Opta, Real Madrid equaled the highest number of offsides in the first half of a La Liga match since at least the 2003/2004 season, with 8 offsides against Celta Vigo in March 2013.
Barcelona went into the match at the top of the La Liga table with 27 points, three points ahead of runners-up Real Madrid.
The Blaugrana continued to rely on the offside trap against the Merengues, having successfully applied it during their 4-1 sweep of Bayern Munich in the Champions League last Wednesday.
