Khartoum: Rhino – The commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, said in a speech delivered in front of tens of thousands of his soldiers on Sunday that his forces were exercising their right to defend themselves against aggression, adding: “We are not advocates of war, but rather advocates of peace. We are losing our loved ones and our most precious possessions in this war, so how can we be advocates for its continuation? On the other hand, what do Al-Burhan, Ali Karti, or Osama Abdullah have to lose if the war continued?”
Hamidti’s speech was packed with messages, some directed at his forces, some at the Sudanese people in general, and some directed abroad, reassuring neighboring countries, especially in the border triangle, which he said his forces’ control of “will in no way be a source of harm to its neighbors.” He affirmed his right to secure his country’s borders while respecting the borders of neighboring countries.
Daglo referred to the tense relationship between RSF and Egypt, revealing that supporters of the war from the Islamic Movement in Port Sudan had secretly worked to poison that relationship, as they had done with the relationship between the RSF and South Sudan, as well as with Chad and Central Africa, where the Islamic Movement formed a fighting force of mercenaries led by the criminal Muslim Brotherhood member Shukrat Allah, before the RSF arrested him and their attempts to change the regime in Central Africa by force failed, according to the speech.
In his speech, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces attacked the supporters of the war from the leadership of the Islamic Movement and the Muslim Brotherhood allied with the army leadership in Port Sudan, likening them to the devil, in reference to the impossibility of trusting them, stressing that their habit is lying and deception.
Hamidti spoke in his speech about refugees and displaced persons in areas controlled by his forces, saying that hundreds of thousands had fled to the states of Kordofan and Darfur after being targeted in a number of cities in the capital and states under army control, and promised that relief would reach them soon.
Daglo revealed that a number of prisons had been renovated to end the phenomenon of theft and looting, saying: “Criminals belong in prison,” sending reassurances to Sudanese in the eastern and northern states that the Rapid Support Forces are only hostile to “ISIS, who started the war and are working today to continue it,” emphasizing the unity of Sudan by saying: “We will not leave the sea to them, and we do not mind living together on agreed terms that guarantee equal rights and citizenship for all.”
