RSF: Kickel’s deal with NCP led him to join Burhan’s militia

Gezira State: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) said on Sunday that it monitored suspicious movements of the commander of the 5th Infantry Division “Abu Aqla Kikel” recently, after he hid himself with members of his family. “We monitored all his movements with some leaders of the National Congress, where he was bought – in a deal – led by his brother through a series of meetings in Gedaref and Port Sudan, which resulted in a bargain that required him to surrender himself to Al-Burhan’s militia, in exchange for a desired military and intelligence work, but the military arrangements on our side went well.

In response to this situation, our forces dealt decisively with the enemy, as our brave men were able to eliminate the Burhan militia in Tambul and inflict losses on them by killing more than 200 and receiving 45 vehicles with all their equipment, including a number of vehicles that joined the enemy today with Kikel, and our forces chased the remnants of the fugitives out of the city and conducted extensive combing operations in the area,” the statement said.

The statement continued: “We reassure our forces and supporters of the cause, our forces have worked since early on to close the gaps and put in place all military and intelligence measures that keep our forces in control of their positions, establish security and provide protection for civilians, and this transient event will not change the reality, and we call on people not to pay attention to the rumors spread by the remnants, which will not bring them victory in the field.

On the morning of April 15, 2023, the RSF recalled its exposure to what it described as betrayal. “We were subjected to a simultaneous military strike on all force headquarters and commanders’ homes, and 480 officers who were seconded to our forces joined the army, as part of the scenario of the Islamic Movement and its army to eliminate our forces in ‘four hours,’ as they claimed. However, their efforts failed, and their rusty arrows bounced back at them, and as the challenges increase with the prolongation of the war, it is natural for those with weakness or betrayal to fall.)

The RSF concluded its statement by saying: “This war has created heroes and leaders, some of whom were martyred in defense of the cause, others are still advancing the ranks and making victories, and whoever chooses the camp of betrayal may go without regret, there are others who block the sun, take responsibility and fight in defense of noble principles and values in which they believed and still defend until victory is completed by liberating the entire country from the clutches of the Islamic terrorist movement and its supporters.
