Sudan achieves a valuable victory over Ghana (2-0) in African Nations qualifiers

Khartoum: Rhino – Sudan’s Guardian Falcons won on Tuesday a precious victory over Ghana’s Black Stars with two goals without a goal, in the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship to be held in Morocco next year.
The first half of the match, which was held at the Martyrs Benina Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, ended in a goalless draw, while the second half saw the Sudanese team’s goals scored by Mohamed Hamed “Elsh” in the 62nd minute, and Mohamed Abdel Rahman “El Gharbal” in the 65th minute.
With this result, the Jadian Falcons are close to qualifying for the finals of the African Cup of Nations, after raising their balance to seven points from four games, two points behind Angola, the leader of Group VI, who played three games, while Ghana’s balance froze at two points, as the four-time African champions face the specter of not qualifying for the tournament.
Sudan dominated from the start, and almost scored early through two chances from Abubakar Issa and Saif El-Din Malik “Terry”. In the 62nd minute, Ahmed Hamed “Elsh” gave Sudan the lead after he followed up Terry’s shot that bounced off the right post. Sudanese fans in Benghazi, where the game was played due to the civil war in Sudan, were celebrating until Mohamed Abdelrahman scored the winning goal from a one-on-one situation.
Sudan, who need one point to qualify for the Cup of Nations, will play Niger in mid-November.
