More than 500 dead and wounded in army airstrikes in five provinces in four days

Rhino: Agencies – On Monday morning, warplanes launched airstrikes on the Souk Fur area in Hasaheisa, killing and injuring dozens.

The “Emergency Lawyers” group said in a statement that 100 people were killed and injured, including women and children, when the armed forces’ warplanes launched an indiscriminate airstrike on Al-Hasahisa locality in Al-Jazeera state.

Activists circulated videos on social media platforms, showing the bodies of children and women killed by the aerial bombardment, with the sounds of screaming and wailing.

The emergency lawyers condemned the continued aerial bombardment by the armed forces, as the air strikes included the states of Gezira, Sennar, White Nile, West and North Darfur, and North Kordofan, which led to the death of hundreds of civilians.

The statement considered the bombing of civilians by warplanes a full-fledged war crime, and the persistence of the leaders responsible for these crimes is a scandal to the international and regional communities.

The statement strongly condemned the continued indiscriminate aerial bombardment and targeting of civilians and considered this a clear violation of the principles of discrimination and proportionality stipulated in international humanitarian law. It called on the international community to intervene immediately to stop these violations and protect the lives of civilians.

For its part, the Darfur Lawyers Association condemned the aerial bombardment of the Fur market in Al Hasahisa locality. It renewed its appeal to exert all pressures on the army leadership to stop the repeated aerial bombardment of markets, homes and places where civilians gather, and called on the international community to take the necessary measures to stop these grave violations and hold the perpetrators fully responsible.

Last Friday, 65 people were killed and more than 200 people were injured in Kuma, North Darfur, as a result of warplane bombing. On the same day, warplanes bombed the town of Mellit in North Darfur, killing 23 people.

In North Kordofan, on Saturday, warplanes bombed the town of Hamra al-Sheikh, killing 38 people and injuring 150 others.
