Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine lost contact since Friday

Rhino: Agencies – A Lebanese security source told Reuters on Saturday that contact with the new potential leader of Lebanese Hezbollah group Hashem Safieddine has been lost since Friday, after Israel said it had targeted him in a raid.
As part of its campaign against the Lebanese group, Israel carried out an airstrike on the southern suburb of Beirut on Thursday evening. Three Israeli officials were quoted by Axios news website as saying that the strike targeted Safieddine, who was then inside an underground bunker.
The security source and two other security sources in Lebanon told Reuters that intensive Israeli strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut since Friday are preventing rescuers from combing the site of the Israeli strike.
Hezbollah has yet to comment on Safieddine’s fate since the attack.
