TASIS Alliance Warns Against Sudan Becoming a Hotbed for Terrorist Groups

Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudan Founding Coalition warned on Wednesday that Sudan is turning into a battleground for jihadist groups, movements, and mercenaries who are killing Sudanese people in order to regain power. This comes amid the circulation of a video showing a captive fighter from the Ethiopian Tigray Front who fell into the hands of the Founding Forces during the Blue Nile battles, who was fighting alongside the army and the Muslim Brotherhood militias allied with it.

In a statement, the coalition urged the Ethiopian Tigray Front to refrain from participating in the war in Sudan and from following the orders of those who benefit from its continuation and the shedding of Sudanese blood, pointing to the ties between the two peoples due to geography and the intermingling of social groups in the border areas.

The coalition called on the World Council of Churches to intervene to protect Christians from being exploited in the wars waged by extremist terrorist groups in Sudan, adding: “Terrorism has no religion, no homeland, no borders, and no geography; everyone in the regional and international community must stand together to eradicate it. We will continue to stand firm against these terrorists’ desire to re-seize Sudan, and we will continue to liberate our country from their evils.
