UAE confirms that its ambassador’s residence in Khartoum was targeted

Rhino: Agencies – UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs “Salem Saeed Gavan Al-Jabri” confirmed on Friday that the Sudanese army targeted the headquarters of the head of the UAE mission in Khartoum, which “led to serious damage to the building and surrounding facilities, in a blatant violation of the basic principle of the inviolability of diplomatic buildings, and international conventions and norms, primarily the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.”

The UAE news agency “WAM” quoted Al Jabri on Friday, stressing that there are “pictures and evidence that prove conclusively the targeting of the headquarters,” adding: “(This is a matter that drops the false narrative presented by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry and the Sudanese Armed Forces, which does not cease to be a desperate attempt to evade the legal and moral responsibility for what is happening in Sudan from the humanitarian disaster resulting from this conflict, by misleading the international community, distracting attention from the suffering paid by the Sudanese brothers, and evading the benefits imposed by international efforts to end this long conflict, which the UAE has made tremendous efforts with its partners.

The UAE Assistant Foreign Minister stressed that “this denial and insistence by the Sudanese side on throwing slanders on others and not recognizing responsibility reflects a blatant disregard for the suffering of the Sudanese people, and distraction from their entitlements and aspirations to achieve stability and prosperity, He also called on UN experts to review the evidence and examine the damage caused by the targeting.
