Rhino: Agencies – The US special envoy for Sudan, Tom Perriello, said on Wednesday that the Sudanese army has become more hostile and extremist towards the return to a civilian democratic system, and it has become clear that it is working to return the country to another period of dictatorship.
In press statements to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper on Wednesday, Perello revealed that they have opened channels of communication with the African Union to prepare and equip forces to intervene, with the aim of protecting civilians in Sudan.
He added: “The army, through the support it receives from the Islamist groups fighting on its side, seeks to end the war by achieving complete victory, which is not possible.
