RINO: Agencies – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the killing of Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah will be avenged, adding that others will continue the path Nasrallah took in fighting Israel. “(Nasrallah) was not an individual,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a statement broadcast on state television announcing five days of mourning in Iran. “He was a path and a school of thought and the path will continue. “The blood of the martyr will not go unavenged,” he added. “The fate of this region will be decided by the forces of resistance, led by the honorable Hezbollah,” Khamenei said in an earlier statement issued after the Israeli military announced it had killed Nasrallah. After Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah’s death, Iranian media reported that IRGC deputy commander Abbas Nilforooshan was killed along with the Hezbollah leader in the Israeli raids on Beirut on Friday. Iranian President Massoud Bazeshkian placed some of the responsibility for Nasrallah’s death on the United States, which has long supplied Israel with advanced weaponry. “The Americans cannot deny their complicity with the Zionists,” he said in a statement carried by state media. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani vowed in a post on the X platform that “the honorable march of resistance leader Mr. Nasrallah will continue, and his goal of liberating Jerusalem will be achieved.” Meanwhile, two regional officials briefed by Iran told Reuters that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been moved to a safe place inside the country with tight security.
The officials added that Iran is in constant contact with the Lebanese group Hezbollah and other allied groups to determine the next step after Nasrallah’s death.
