Rhino: Agencies – When Manchester City star Rhodri fell to the ground after a shared play with Arsenal’s Thomas Partey in the 19th minute during Sunday’s 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium, it didn’t look like the incident would affect Manchester City’s season. However, reports suggest that Rodri could be sidelined for an extended period and may not return to action this season, after his club announced that he has injured the ligaments in his right knee. The hamstring injury kept him out of Manchester City’s first three league games of the season, before he returned as a second-half substitute in their 2-1 win over Brentford in the fourth round of the Premier League. There is no doubt that Manchester City will be weaker without Rodri in the lineup, and manager Pep Guardiola knows this, as he relied on his compatriot more than any other player last season in all competitions. Rodri played more games than any of his teammates in the 2023-2042 season, starting 50 games and playing the most minutes (4,325). He then joined the Spanish national team for Euro 2024, where he started seven out of seven games, before being injured and substituted in the first half of the final against England.
