RSF: Port Sudan government invests oil revenues in bombing local communities

Khartoum: Rhino – Advisor to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Al-Basha Tibaiq, revealed on Tuesday that the army forcibly displaced the citizens of Heglig, “who are living in very critical humanitarian conditions,” after the social responsibility clauses, which were working to support the citizens, were suspended. He added: “The Heglig field produces 22,000 barrels per day, and weapons and aircraft are purchased to strike local communities.

In a tweet on his personal account on the “X” platform on Tuesday, Tibaiq said that West Kordofan state was deprived of 40% of the oil revenues, despite the fact that the government of South Sudan exports 80,000 barrels per day and pays the Port Sudan government $14 per barrel, the rental value of the pipeline, and continued: “All these amounts go to support the war effort, terrorist groups and mercenary movements, to strike communities in oil production areas, so allowing the continued export of oil crude is a participation in the crime.”

“We will hold the Port Sudan gang accountable for any barrel of oil exported and the rental value of the oil pipelines from April 15, 2023, to the moment the oil pipelines were closed, after consultation with the government of South Sudan,” the RSF advisor concluded.
