The 3-gram bomb… Details of the explosive pager shipment in Lebanon

Rhino: Agencies – The New York Times reports that the Beijer radios that exploded simultaneously in the hands of Hezbollah operatives on Tuesday were manufactured in Taiwan and rigged by Israel before arriving in Lebanon.
According to the report, at least nine people were killed and about 2,800 others, including the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, were injured when the pagers exploded in different parts of Lebanon in an unprecedented attack. The Lebanese government and Hezbollah blamed Israel for the explosions. However, Israel has made no official comment on the incident.
In the United States, the New York Times, citing US officials and other unnamed sources, reported that the pagers that exploded were manufactured by Taiwan’s Gold Apollo.
The report added that Israel tampered with the devices and planted small amounts of explosives inside each device before they were shipped to Lebanon.
A senior Lebanese security source and another source told Reuters that Israel’s Mossad intelligence service planted small amounts of explosives inside 5,000 Taiwanese-made pagers ordered by the Lebanese Hezbollah group months before last Tuesday’s bombings.
