Chad deploys unprecedented military reinforcements on border with Sudan

Rhino: Agencies – The Chadian authorities have tightened their security measures on the border with Sudan, deploying unprecedented military reinforcements along the border separating the two countries, following the escalation of military operations in Darfur.
The Sudan Tribune quoted a Chadian government source as saying that “the authorities of the Wadi region, which borders the Sudanese Darfur region, have deployed unprecedented military reinforcements along the border for fear of infiltration of armed groups into Chadian territory.”
The source said that the tightening of security measures came after the escalation of fighting in El Fasher.
“The Chadian government fears the infiltration of armed elements from both sides of the border, as well as the possible infiltration of anti-government groups into Chad from Sudanese territory,” the source added.
The source said that tightening security measures and deploying military reinforcements on the border is a routine measure taken by every country in the event of a crisis on its borders, with the aim of preventing any hostile act or infiltration of armed groups that may threaten Chadian security.
Leaders in the Chadian regime had reported that Osman Dilo, the brother of Chadian oppositionist Yahya Dilo, who was assassinated in N’Djamena last February, is present with a number of his forces inside the city of El Fasher, where he is fighting in the ranks of the joint force against the RSF.
