Inter Milan face Manchester City without their stars

Rhino: Agencies – Inter Milan will be without two stars for tomorrow’s important match against Manchester City in the first round of the league stage of the Champions League.

Inter will be without left-back Federico Demarco and Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic.

DeMarco, a key member of coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad, missed the Italian champions’ last training session on Tuesday due to a muscle strain, after playing more than 70 minutes in seven consecutive matches, including two matches with the Italian national team in the last international break.

Brazilian Carlos Augusto is expected to enter Inzaghi’s calculations to replace DeMarco’s absence.

Arnautovic missed the training session due to a high fever, which will prevent him from traveling to Manchester for the match at the Etihad Stadium.

The Austrian international’s absence will not be as impactful as DeMarco’s, especially since he is the third option in Inter’s attack after France’s Marcus Thuram and Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez, in addition to the club’s signing of Iranian international Mehdi Tarmi.

This is the first time the two teams have met since the 2023 Champions League final, which Man City won with a clean sheet and won the title for the first time in its history.
