Dozens of civilians killed and wounded as army bombs Nyala, South Darfur

Nyala: Rhino – On Monday, the Sudanese army’s air force carried out airstrikes by bombing a number of citizens’ homes in Nyala, killing and injuring dozens of people, in addition to severe damage to infrastructure, public institutions and private property, including houses, shops and cars.
The Sudanese Civil Committees in South Darfur condemned the incident, describing it as “a cowardly operation that targeted innocent citizens with barrel bombs, in flagrant violation of international laws and norms.” In a statement on Monday, they called on the international community, the concerned regional and international parties and the UN and African Security Council to assume their responsibilities towards the people of Sudan and its future, and called on them to work seriously and quickly to reach a peaceful political solution to resolve the roots of the Sudanese crisis, stop the bloodshed and destruction of the country’s infrastructure and citizens’ property by the “Islamic Movement” and its allies, and arrest their leaders and bring them to trial.
